Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is the educative means of updating, developing and enhancing how doctors apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes required in their working lives. This includes CPD, professional competencies and all elements of good professional practice.

Applying for CPD Accreditation

We would like to remind all CPD events' organisers that a complete application needs to be forwarded to the office for processing and assessment purpose.

A link will then be forwarded by the FSEM office to the event organiser by e-mail for the application fee to be paid on-line on the portal.

FSEM approves educational events which take place in Ireland and are organised specifically for the purpose of CPD. Event / Meeting organisers will be required to have their events / meetings accredited for CPD purposes.

Please note that from 1st May 2018, the Faculty is charging a standard processing fee of €200 for all CPD applications received for assessment. This processing fee will be in addition to any other fee which may be applicable as per the fee matrix on the application form.

Incomplete applications will not be assessed by the PCS / CPD committee; it is up to the event organisers to ensure a complete application is forwarded to the FSEM office (application form, event detailed timetable, list of speakers/teaching faculty, and fee). Please note that CPD credits cannot be awarded retrospectively for an event that has already taken place; we advise event organisers to forward CPD applications 4 weeks before the event is due to take place, to allow sufficient time for the processing of the application.
